The Hiran Minar near Sheikhupura, on the outskirts of Lahore, is a major attraction of Pakistan. Once a hunting complex of the Mughal Emepror, the site is home to a large square pond with an octagonal pavilion in its center, a causeway with its own gateway connects the pavilion with the mainland and a 100-foot-high minar (minaret). The minar was built by Jahangir in 1606 to honor the memory of his favorite antelope named Mansraj.
The top of the Minar gives a stunning view of the landscape.
